Rain.

Rain. Rain everywhere...

The past weekend it has been raining non stop here in The Netherlands. Greaaaat.
Which basically means when you have to cycle anywhere you arrive soaking wet, unfortunately.

But hey, let's all just stay positive and hope it won't rain during the time you have to go outside (:

Hope the weather is more pleasant where you live ^^

Books books books

Boooooooks! I love them! And last Saturday I went to a second hand store, where they sell about EVERYTHING. And I ran straight to the book section, in the hope of finding some entertaining books. And wel.. I did :D
As you can see, in the pic, haha. I purchased a total of 5 books:

The Da Vinci Code - Dan Brown
The Lost Symbol - Dan Brown
The Bro Code - Barney Stinson
To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee
Digital Fortress - Dan Brown

Uh yeah, a lot of Dan Brown. To be honest, I never read a book by him before, so about time I did! Three of these books aren't for me actually. Digital Fortress was a part of my dad's birthday gift, and I gave To Kill a Mockingbird to one of my friends, just as a small gift. And The Bro Code, I'm planning on giving that one to a friend of mine who is a big van of HIMYM (How I Met Your Mother, for those of you that don't know). This book is based on the series, so yeah.

And Well, the rest is for me. Only two books left (: But really looking forward to reading those. By the way, the white round stickers on the back of the books don't really mean anything. I guess the employees there use that to indicate in what section the books are supposed to be. Or something like that.

And that's about it for today! See y'all soon!

Happee Birthday Dad.

Today, Sunday June 2nd, is NOT my dad's birthday. It is tomorrow actually. But we're celebrating today for friends and family, and the weather just happens to be perfect. (:
The sun is shining, there are birds in the garden, waiting for us to leave our food and then steal is from us, and everyone is happy. I love these days. And about time too! It is officially summer in only 19 days, and we haven't had such a cold spring in about 40 years I believe, here in our little county.

And I finished Looking for Alaska, by John Green. Finally. Didn't read much last week, but since the weather was so nice, I decided to take my book outside and finish it in the sun.
I REALLY liked it. Didn't know what to expect, and since the book is from a boy's POV, there's a lot of 'girl reviewing' in the book. But it was very nicely written, and a lot of great philosophy is in it. I would definetely recommend it!

Now it is time for me to start studying for my Cambridge exam, which means even MORE reading haha. Gonna start reading 'The Lighthouse' by P.D. James tonight! I promise. I think..

PS; noticed my Harry Potter reference in the post? If you do, I love you! Oh well, I already gave it away with the pic. Nah. (:

Lazy Sunday

*insert picture of the incredibly hot Knights of Camelot. Ugh.. Gwaine and Lancelot, why so handsome? *

Hello there! Well, today I don't feel like doing anything (and yes, that is also a Bruno Mars lyric). But seriously, I don't feel like doing ANYTHING. So I guess I'll just read a bit, do some homework, and study for my upcoming CAE exam (aaahhhh stress) and visit some family. Sound pretty chill, right (: I woke up early (8 AM) and here I am, still (11 AM while typing this) sitting on the computer doing absolutely nothing. I am watching an episode of Merlin right now, but it is too freaking scary so I just keep pausing it the entire time haha.

Haven't progressed much in LfA (Looking for Alaska, my current read) so that's something I need to work on :P I'm at page 70 or so. My goal for today is to read til at least page 120.

Hm... not much to talk about today, as you may have noticed haha. Just gonna leave it here and get off my lazy but and start doing something useful.

Enjoy your weekend/Sunday!

ALSO! How weird is this!? Just scrolling through the 'lazy sunday' tag on Tumblr, when I see a gif. of a scene in the Merlin episode I am watching right now. *poofffff* mind blown :D

THE SCRIPT CONCERT

AAAAAHHHH. Last friday, January 25th 2013, I went with 3 of my friends to the The Script concert in the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam!! We bought our tickets last September, and now the time was finally there! To be honest I am not SUCH a fan of The Script, but 2 of my friends really like them, and me and my other friend were like 'why not join them', so we also bought tickets. Since the weather was terrible and for the last couple of weeks it has snowed constantly, we went with the car. Not only because of the weather, but it's also way more comfortable (:

Oh the weather outside is frightful...

This past weekend there was REAL snow in The Netherlands! Yay for snow! Well, it depends on it actually. When you have to cycle to school snow is terrible! It's freezing cold, snow blowing in your face, almost falling the entire time and slipping around. Ugh. Don't get me started on it. But last friday the weather man said the weather was going to be terrible so I went to school with the bus. Ghehe. I cheated, but hey, at least I wasn't late for class and freezing cold.

Because it was snowing so hard that day, around twelve o'clock they told us we could go home, because else the buses wouldn't drive anymore. Yeah! Thanks school! But because we were celebrating Sinterklaas that evening we had to get to my friend's house, which is about 20 km from my school away, so the plan was to walk to the train station and just take the train. BUT, there were hardly any driving buses left so we ran to the nearest bus stop and we could take the bus to the train station. And when we came there someone announced that the train we were about to take was the last train. How lucky we were!

After we arrived at the station in her town we had to walk to her home, and there was about a 20 cm thick layer of snow on the ground, and it was just 1.30PM. Luckily I was wearing my snowboots so I didn't mind haha. When we arrived at her place we did nothing special. We just lip synched to stupid and silly songs and recorded ourselves on the iMac, it was a LOT of fun haha.

We ate some delicious soup and after that we went to the library, where my friend works. So the four of us went to the library where us three waited for her until she finished her work. And when we got home again it was of course time for SINTERKLAAS! It was so much fun and we had a great time! My surprise was the statue of Lady Liberty, made out of a coca cola bottle. How awesome!! I absolutely loved it! A picture of it I will post later on this week. (:

We stayed there for the night and had a nice sleep over. The next day my grandparents picked me up and we went to the local fabric store, where I got fabric for a new pair of pants I'm going to make in the Christmas vacation, which starts in two weeks. Ah, so excited to make it and wear it! It's a warm green color, and it's going to be a baggy and cozy pair of lounge pants.

When we got home the sun was already setting and the sight was absolutely beautiful! Here is a picture. Note: this snow was about 48 hours old and it was already a bit melting.

And Saturday night I went babysitting with my lovely friend Nathalie, and we give each other traditionally a Sinterklaas present. This year she gave me the book The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. AAAAAAAHHH Thank you SO SO SO much Nathalie! I absolutely love it!
I had an amazing weekend, and it was a lot of fun. I am very grateful for the presents I got.

Days left til Christmas: 15
