I must admit, I feel kind of ashamed that I neglected this blog for so long. On the other hand, I've got barely any viewers so there are not many people to disappoint haha.
So here we are, more than 7 months later.
I, of course could make a blogpost full of apologies and promises that I will blog more often, but I won't. Let's just see what the future will bring.
Thanks for reading, and who knows til when (:

Whoop whoop! Winter break! Finally!
Well, umm, it's been winter break for almost a week now, but okay haha. Enjoy the Holdays people!
I know I haven't posted like anything the past few months, but let me just say that I have  been really busy and am now enjoying my well-deserved Christmas break (A)

Look forward to more blogging! (:

DUN DUN DUUUUUNNNNN

Oh no, it's here. It's already going on actually haha, just forgot to mention. But what I am talking about is the oh so terrible exam week. BUT! When this week is over, there are only 2 more exam weeks to go, so that's uhh kind of a good thing. I guess.

Nothing you can do about it, huh? So here's a few tips on how you survive your exam week:

1. Drink lots of tea.
2. Try to got to bed early (it's so hard, i know)
3. Relax.
4. It is okay to make mistakes.
5. JUST SURVIVE, it'll be over soon enough.

Okay, back to learning. BYE!

WOOHOO!

Heck yes! I DID it! I read 8 books, I repeat EIGHT BOOKS in October! Wow! That's some sort of accomplishment, isn't it? (:
*pats own shoulder*

Even though I am super duper busy with school, I wanted to read at least one book a week, but since I also read a few small books, I managed to read eight books. Heck yes!

Gotta love reading..

Oh and by the way, I also have a Goodreads profile, if you wanna check it out. If you don't know what a goodreads profile is, that's basically this website (www.goodreads.com) where you can post which books you've read, and when, and what your opinion on that particular book is, and you can fill in polls and such, aaaaaaandd also, you can do a book challenge! I am doing the 50 books challenge, which means you have to try to read 50 books in 2013. I have already read 35 books so far, which means I am currently on 70% :D

Terrible timing

Well, since I have barely any spare time this upcoming week, and I have an exam week, it seems like the perfect time to start blogging regularly again, don't you think?
Oh man, my timing is so bad. But the thing is, when you have to study you get bored, and even more bored and suddenly you find yourself doing things that make absolutely no sense, or things you should do another time, WHEN YOU GOT THE TIME!

Ghehe. Guilty. So guilty. But I can't help it! I can't wait to finish school. Meh. Just hang in there for 7 more months. Or something like that. When are the exams again? I believer somewhere in May, here in The Netherlands. Terrifying. It really is. But until that time, let's just try to survive school, and read a few more books. Yay.

Rain.

Rain. Rain everywhere...

The past weekend it has been raining non stop here in The Netherlands. Greaaaat.
Which basically means when you have to cycle anywhere you arrive soaking wet, unfortunately.

But hey, let's all just stay positive and hope it won't rain during the time you have to go outside (:

Hope the weather is more pleasant where you live ^^

Loooooong time no see.

Well hello there everyone reading this! But I doubt there will be many people reading this since it's been FOREVER since I blogged. I went on vacation to Rome, and there I blogged for a bit, but the internet wasn't too well so not as much as I'd wanted.

What has happend since my last blogpost? First, we went home. Sadly. Summer vacation to me is sort of an escape from the daily life. On vacation it doens't matter what you do, because there is no one that will judge you. You can run around in your pajamas and no one will care. Wake up early, stroll around the camp site, watch the sun rise, go get bread for breakfast, dive in the swimming pool, reading a LOT, doing nothing... Just love the camping life <3

So sadly we went home. There is an end to everything, sadly. When we came home the weather was okay. Could've been worse. We drove home via Germany, where we stayed the night at a cute country site family hotel, and the next day we arrived home, after a long day in the car. We came home on a thursday, and the day after I had to start work at 8 (!!). But oh well, I managed haha. And the day after that I also had to work, this time at the market. Which meant getting up around 6am. But I sure do love my job!

And that Monday, I started the introduction week at my new school. It was tough, but also a lot of fun, maybe I'll write a blogpost about it soon. And after that week school really started. Lessons and such. Meh.

And here we are. The regular day to day life. School is hard, it's really tough and the new school system requires some getting used to, but so far I'm doing fine.

This was sort of an 'hey i'm back'-post, and I'm planning on blogging a lot more again (:

Divergent trailer!

AAAAAAAHHHH THE FIRST LOOK OF THE DIVERGENT MOVIE WAS RELEASED LAST NIGHT!!

I have waited forever for this! I am so excited for the movie to come out next year.

Oh and if you haven't read the books, you DEFINETELY should! When I read the first book I immediately fell in love with the series. The last book in the series is supposed to come out in November in the Netherlands I believe.

Here's the link to the trailer. Enjoy!

Sending cards

Almost every year, when me and my family are on summer holiday I send cards to my friends and family home. Old school huh?
Usually those photoshopped and over-edited cheeky cards but not this year!

Yesterday (Thu August 15th) we went to Napels and climbed the Vesuvius Vulcano! (And visited some other places but more about that later)
At the top, next to the crater there was a cute little shop that sold all sorts of cards, and mu eye fell for this vintage looking card of a photograph of the eruction of the vulcano in 1944. Exactly the type of card I like!

So I immediatly bought 12 of them. One for me and the rest for friends and family.
Don't you love it? (:

Current Pool Reads

When the weather is so hot everyday, I pretty much hang out by the pool all day. And what's better than reading a good book while you're laying at the pool.

At the moment I'm reading two books.
1. Travels With Charlie: In Search of America - John Steinbeck
2. What We Talk About When We Talk About Anne Frank - Nathan Englander

Travels with Charlie is like the perfect book for me. Ever since I was 10 years old I've dreamt of studying and living in America. It may be naive but that's my biggest dream. There's just something about the USA that appeals to me. I often feel like I was born in the wrong country...
This book describes how John Steinback rediscovers his country and I really love the book so far.
(And yes, the book on the picture is the Dutch version ^^)

And the second book: what we talk about when we talk about anne frank. Which, first of all, has an amazing name if you ask me. But there are way too many capitals in the title if you have to type this on a phone (;
The book contains a few short stories which are all in a way connected to Anne Frank, World War 2 and Israel. Maybe a bit odd to read this when you're hanging by the pool but it's quite easy to read and the stories are very interesting.

Church windows

When you're in Rome, it's very likely you'll see a church at almost every street corner. They're everyhere. In all shapes and sizes. One of my favorite things about those churches/cathedrals/basilicas/whateveryouprefer are the windows.

In these churches (a lot of them were built during the Renaissance) everyhing is BIG. Everything. The sculptures, the statues, the paintings and so on. The windows are different. They aren't supposed to be the big eye catcher so often they are subtle and modest. Exacly what I like. With pretty colors and often a story is told in the glass.

The picture above is one of my favorites. It isn't very special or big, but I like it.
You can spot it in the Santa Maria Maggiore, about a 20 minute walk from the colosseum.

Minesweeper

It's one of those games you can play all the time for a couple of days, only to forget about the game and don't play it for months. The game I'm talking about is Minesweeper.

And yes, currently I'm totally addicted to it again. It's vacation time, chilling by the pool and doing nothing much. Scrolling through your phone and suddenly you see that one game you haven't played in months. So you decide to give it a go and before you know it you can't stop yourself and play it all the time.

So my go to useless game of the moment definetely is minesweeper (:

My goal before we go home again is to finish the "hard" game at least once. I am so bad at it haha.

Cambridge Exams Results!

AAAAAHHHH OHMYGARDEN YOU GUYS I CAN'T BELIEVE I DIDN'T BLOG ABOUT THIS BEFORE. But guess what..... *drum roll*

I PASSED MY CAMBRIDGE ADVANCED ENGLISH EXAMS!

I am so happy!
On July 25th, about 8 weeks after the exam, we could see if we passed our exams. I was SO nervous, especially because I already failed this year at school. I was shaking and didn't want to know whether I passed or not.
But eventually I found the courage to look aaaaand I passed! At grade B! I was super close to grade A! So that's a bit of a bummer (because then I would get an even higher certificate) but you won't hear me complain! I am so happy.

Just wanted to share that with you ^^

Roman trees

Sigh. I absolutely hate (most of the time) vertical pictures. I don't know, I just don't like them. Hea shots and such are fine vertical, but when you take a picture of a landscape it just has to be taken horizontal. In my opinion.
So please please please forgive me for using a vertical picture haha (:
How stupid, I wanted to make a post about the lovely Roman trees here on the camp site but the sun hasn't set yet so I had to use a picture from last year (we went here last year also) and couldn't find a better one. Oops.

Okay, let's get to the point. One of the things I love about this place is the trees. They're super tall and kind of majestic in my opinion. How cool are they, right?! When we're sitting outside (which is always, thanks to the lovely weather) I can just stare at them forever. So much more exciting than the regular Dutch trees (:

Soooooo at the bar there is a karaoke thing going on at the moment and some Italian 50+ woman is singing My Immoral by Evannesscence (HOW do you spell that?!) for the 10th time now! Like wut? Is she rehearsing or something? Oh well. Let's try to ignore it and take another dive in the beautiful pool.

Yes deer.

Look at this super cute mug I spotted in the Waterstones bookstore in Amsterdam a few weeks ago! Haha isn't it amazing? I fell for it immediately but didn't buy it since I already have enough shizzle lying around in my room.

If you live in The Netherlands, be sure to visit Waterstones! It is a beautiful store and has some pretty cool shelves with typical British and Dutch foods and other sorts of things. (:
